i) State Level Co-ordinating Agency (SLCA)

CHASS is designated as the State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA), of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE), Government of India, for the coordination of all the Integrated Rehabilitation Centres for Addicts (IRCAs – 21 Nos.) for the effective functioning of de-addiction and drug abuse prevention programmes in the states of Kerala and Lakshadweep. It also ensures the upgrading of the professional skills of the functionaries of IRCAs in Kerala with proper training and networking.

• • Observing national and international days related to substance abuse.
  • Providing awareness sessions in schools, colleges and communities.
  • Awareness through Street Plays, Poster Making, Classes, Competitions, Social Media etc.
  • Capacity Building for IRCA Counsellors and nursing students.
  • Review Meeting of IRCA Representatives.
  • Online and Offline training sessions.
  • Awareness programmes for Law Enforcement Agencies.
  • Annual Inspections.
  • Different Programmes in Lakshadweep related to SLCA
  • Certificate course on Drug De- Addiction Counseling, Behavioral Change, Relapse Management & On Other Thematic Issues for functionaries of IRCAs
  • Orientation course on Counselling skills, Individual Counseling, Family counselling, Group Counseling of addicts and their family
