Ashakiranam Cancer Care Programme

Ashakiranam Cancer care programme is a joint venture of CHASS and Caritas India for the prevention and mitigation of Cancer and other lifestyle diseases. The activities under the programme are as follows;

      • World Cancer Day Observation
      • Food Kits Distribution for Cancer Patients
      • Live Free Cotton Sanitary Pad
      • Pink Day Observation to raise awareness against breast cancer

      • Cancer Survivors Meet

Grihalakshmi Home Nursing Service

Families where bedridden patients are in dire need of professional nursing care are provided with home nurse assistance. Six trained home nurses are available for service on a rotation basis. Several people and families are benefitted every year under this programme.

Medical Camps

In association with Pushpagiri Medical college, every year at least 4 free medical camps are conducted for the community

Health Insurance

45 families received Rs. 224,080/- as medical expense reimbursement from the Health Insurance programme with New India assurance Company promoted by CHASS.

Jal Jeevan Mission Project

The Jal Jeevan Mission is a massive and intensive drinking water supply project initiated by the central government, envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections by 2024 to all households in rural India. The Central Government is implementing this project in collaboration with State Governments, gram panchayats, Water authorities, and Implementation Supporting Agencies (ISA). CHASS is one of the ISAs entrusted with Vazhappally and Madappally GPs in Kottayam District and Nedumudy and Champakulam GPs in Alappuzha District.

Herbal Gardening for Health Promotion Programme

This is a project specially designed to create a healthy environment by promoting herbal gardening, promotion of home remedies and alternative lifestyle for fighting against lifestyle diseases. Under this project CHASS promoted Herbal gardening in one lakh households in its operational area in collaboration with Eco-green Herbal Mission Society.

JeevanMadhur

Jeevan Madhur is a micro insurance scheme launched by CHASS in collaboration with the Life Insurance Corporation of India in April 2008. This scheme is mainly intended to help the low income families meet the education/marriage expenses of their children. The insured is eligible to get the assured sum with bonus. The duration of the program is 10 to 15 years.

JeevanMangal

Jeevan Mangal, the micro insurance project implemented by CHASS in collaboration with LIC of India, is customised to cater to the distinct needs of the most vulnerable low income sections of the population. As per this scheme, as death benefit the sum assured under the basic plan is payable, provided the policy is kept in force. On the date of maturity, an amount equal to the total amount of premium paid during the term of the contract excluding the accident benefit premium and all extra premium, if any, is payable, provided the policy is kept in force.

Micro Health Insurance

CHASS in collaboration with United India Insurance Company launched a Micro Health Insurance Scheme for the SHG and Credit Union members.

Jeevakarunya Nidhi

A local charity fund placed at the disposal of CHASS to cater the personal charity irrespective of caste, creed or religion to very deserving people.
